The Trifexrta week Fifty-Four challenge is to find 33 of the best words in our library. It’s gotta be Russell’s three passions
“Three passions, simple but overwhelmingly strong, have governed my life: the longing for love, the search for knowledge, and unbearable pity for the suffering of mankind. These passions … have blown me … to … despair.”
I’ve had to summarize the following sentence from the introduction to his autobiography for the word count. I that OK?

It’s funny how passions so often lead to despair. Great quote!
Indeed. Could you have the second without the first?
Russell?
Interesting the passions. thanks for sharing
Bertrand Russell (should have been clearer..)
Thanks
This is a perfect choice!
thanks
so what’s the authors full name and the name of his book ? and what is the full quote?
It’s Bertrand Russell, from the prologue to his autobiography. It’s the first sentence that is most commonly quoted, but the longer passage can be found at the Bertrand Russell society website here – http://www.users.drew.edu/~jlenz/br-prolog.html
If you’re not familiar with his work it’s worth having an explore…
awww loved your choice!
I thank you.
